Things we really need??

First time momma. Making my registry but I’m sure I’m missing some important items. Suggestions? What are some must haves?

Must haves for when baby first comes home.. white noise machine. My kid hated swaddling and she was a strict tummy sleeper(horrible I know) this baby we are looking at the owlet foot sock. I’d say a bouncer/swing forsure. We got a pack and play and she never used it and hated it. If baby’s sleeping in your room a small bassinet is ideal. I got tons of burp cloths and never used them. I hated the typical baby bath tub the big plastic one and for the most part she bathed in the sink and still does at almost two so this time I’m getting the blooming flower type thing for baby.

My breast friend pillow, a baby carrier, a baby play mat, bassinet, white noise machine, a dim lamp (preferably red, not white) for while sleeping, an exercise ball or rocking chair. These were our must haves and made life so much easier with our 1st!

Yes to everything on here but also so important to have formula on hand! No matter if your planning on breastfeeding or not! With my first I wanted to exclusively breastfeed but my milk came in slow and we didn’t have a great latch so she wasn’t getting the nutrition she needed. By 3 days old she had lost 18oz which is way too much for a newborn to lose and she was dehydrated. So scary to take a newborn into the ER. Finally got her some formula and within 3 days she gained all the weight back! Happy to say that we worked on our latch, my milk came in strong and we breastfed till she was 11.5 months old when I got pregnant.

I love love my Moby wrap. It kept my hands free while baby wanted to be snuggled all the time for the first few months.

4.Swing or equivalent. A must so you can carry baby in the bathroom with you so you can shower or kitchen to cook etc

8 towels 
9. Sheets. 
10 . Clothes 
11 diapers and wipes 
12. Baby carrier. Only used it to travel through airports. Maybe not a must have 
The rest you can buy as you discover you need. 
These I’d say are the basic must haves. This is my second child. And my God I wish someone had done me a favor and told me “THE REST Of IT IS A NICE TO HAVE and unnecessary shit”

Philips avent pacifiers, dapple bottle cleaner and brush (for bottles, pump parts, etc), ZIP UP onesies (target makes great ones with reverse zippers), a boppy pillow

I got a binxy for my 2 baby and it's such a life saver, instead of carrying a heavy carseat to do some shopping your baby will lay in a nice baby hammock. Check it out!

If you start an amazon registry, there’s actually a check list guid that helps with the “must haves”! I’m a FTM as well and found it very helpful ☺️
