We had a bit of a scare with the chances of down syndrome, but after much anxious waiting, the doctor called today and said the Verifi test came back clear and healthy. She asked if I wanted to know the gender, but I asked her to just put it in an envelope so that we could find out together when we are all together. We're jokesters, so I'm pulling a prank on my dad and hubby. Hubby has claimed from day 1 it's a boy, while my father has adamantly insisted just the opposite! Regardless of the gender outcome, one of them will indeed be rubbing it in the other ones face. So after picking up the envelope today, I went to the bakery nearby and the ladies were all too pleased to help me. I handed them the envelope and asked them to put cream (pink or blue) into cupcakes for me that are OPPOSITE of what the paper says in the envelope. This way I can see the reaction of my father and hubby even though I know the baby will be opposite of whatever the cupcakes say. I will also be recording the whole fiasco. Then comes the REAL reveal!! I also went to Kohls today and my daughter and I picked out a blanket and onesie that coordinates with the ACTUAL gender written in the envelope. I had the cashier ring my card up and wrap the correct gendered items while we walked around the store. So until tomorrow night, I will not know the gender at all. Looking forward to this exciting occasion!!
