Yes it’s normal. There’s still stuff that’s in the belly bottom after the stump falls off. You gotta think about It...there was moisture up under that umbilical cord stump therefore you must keep it cleaned/ dry and it will all dry up and look better in a few weeks. Just take a q-tip with a little rubbing alcohol and gently clean the belly button. ￼

My babies stump fell off week 2 and was healed within days. My midwife did say it could ooze but to leave it alone!! So I would talk to your health care professional before you start cleaning it with anything
