Lip Tie Revision

Morgan

My daughter is 7 weeks and has a pretty extensive lip tie (stage 3). I've been breast feeding okay these months, I "deal with" the bruised nipples and her shallow latch and she has gained weight without issue since day one. To be honest, I thought breastfeeding was supposed to be mildly uncomfortable so I never even thought to see if she had any frenulum issues.

We have an appointment with a pediatric dentist tomorrow to assess of she should get it revised. If it improves her latch and prevents her from choking on my let down so often (again, I just thought I had a strong let down, but it's apparently her lip tie that causes this), we plan to get it revised and snipped.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this done and if it improved things other than breastfeeding. My baby gets rather fussy at night, pretty bad on some days, and we think it's mostly gas. Would correcting her lip tie help with gassyness and ultimately assist with her fussiness at night? I'd like to hear from anyone that's done this. I'm hoping that not only will her latch improve but her temperament might as well.
