DH and I do NOT smoke, nor has anyone ever smoked inside our third floor apartment at least in the past 12 years since we’ve lived here, and it doesn’t seem like any of our neighbors smoke either. But our super smokes, and all of our packages including baby stuff get delivered straight to his office. Where he smokes. We live in NYC and receiving packages is a whole thing, so we are grateful for a kind super who holds them for us. But sometimes something will get delivered and sit in there for days without us knowing. Then we’ll bring it upstairs and I’ll notice that it kind of smells. We discard the boxes quickly, and our windows are always open. How bad is this situation? How much should I worry about this kind of secondhand smoke or is the real concern only about me smoking/people smoking in our home?
