Am I selfish for not wanting children?

Question

I was always transparent with my boyfriend about no children. Now all of a sudden after four years it’s “you said you wanted them” which isn’t true at all. It makes me question everything you know? 
Anyways, he calls me selfish. Does it make me selfish to not want them? I don’t even like them if I’m being transparent.

It’s not selfish, I don’t understand how anyone who’s telling you it is can say that? You told him from the beginning you didn’t want kids. Selfish would be leading him on making him think you do when you don’t, just to continue the relationship. It’s not selfish, don’t let anyone tell you it is.

It’s selfish, but not in a bad way. I didn’t want kids for the longest time, but now I have one, so I have some understanding of where you’re coming from. 
If you told him beforehand and now he’s putting words in your mouth, you two aren’t meant to be. You want different things in life. It’s okay to be selfish when it comes to not wanting kids! They’re not for everyone. 😊

You’re not selfish at all. But definitely decide what you want to do now. He may also want to move on. If he wants children he should be allowed to do so, however you also deserve to get to live a childfree life. Be careful and make sure he doesn’t try to baby trap you either.

I don't think you are selfish at all. As long as you know you made it clear from the beginning. If he has changed his mind, I guess that's life and he'll have to find someone else, which really sucks for you! I guess we are all able to change our minds, but it kinda sucks for the person who was upfront and honest with both themselves and their partner.
