IUI ultrasound or no?

When your insemination was done did they use ultrasound to guide them to the correct spot or not? I’ve had 5 IUI’s and they have never used an ultrasound I was reading something that said it should be done with ultrasound. Just wondering others experience.

Fertility clinic was using an ultrasound but my OBGYN not. It’s handy to use if you have bend cervix etc. Most people don’t need one.

Yes, ultrasound every time. Idk if it’s necessary or not. They show me where the catheter is and you can see where the sperm is released.

I’ve never heard of them using an ultrasound t do it. All 3 of my IUI’s they didn’t use one. Our 3rd IUI was successful and the only thing that was different from the first two was that it hurt the 3rd time.

They used one for mine last week. A nurse had it over the skin while the dr did the iui. Dr was able to explain what I was seeing (uterus, catheter inserted and sperm being released). It was nice to see it as they were doing it. It was my first IUI.

I was told they don’t do ultrasound and it inhibits the mobility of sperm. They’re didn’t use it when I had mine.
