Am I ovulating?

Question

I’m currently cycle day 15. My app tells me I’m at peak ovulation today and I can definitely feel it. I’ve been taking digital OPKs the last couple days and they are all negative. Last cycle, I didn’t get a positive until cycle day 17. Does that mean I’m not ovulating yet? When should we BD? I can definitely feel the discomfort down below.

Don’t use the app to tell you when you’re ovulating as it’s just making a guess based on your past cycles- it can be wildly inaccurate. 
Go by the opks and your other body signs (like cervical mucous). The advice we were given by specialists is to have sex every other day during what would normally be the fertile window- technically one of the best days of your cycle to conceive is the day BEFORE a positive opk, so if you start having every other day sex a few days before your earliest day ovulating, then continue until at least 4 days after a positive opk. 
Even better would be adding temping (or getting a wearable temp device) so that you can truly confirm ovulation. Opks will tell you that your body has enough of the hormone that triggers ovulation, but it doesn’t guarantee that it happened. Temps can’t tell you anything until about 3 days after. So to really know your cycle it’s good to use both opks and temping as the opks tell you when your body is gearing up to ovulate and the temps confirm it happened and wasn’t a failed ovulation.
