Flu and breastfeeding 😓 anybody?

Just got diagnosed with the flu today! We drove 13 hours to be with our families for the holiday and I caught it 😥 I’m breastfeeding my son so what I’m having to do is pump and let my in-laws and husband feed him and take care of him.... it totally sucks because I’m pretty much in quarantine away from him and I miss our snuggles😥  
But any other mama’s got the flu while breastfeeding? Asking for support. I also feel like my supply is going down because I’m not directly nursing him and I know I’m suppose to be resting but it’s hard because he eats every 3 hours but I have to pump and I wasn’t able to bring any of my frozen stash on this trip 😓

I had the flu when my son was 10 months. I just kept nursing him. He didn’t catch it. Your breast milk contains antibodies to protect baby.

You’re obviously doing what you feel is best for your child. If you talked to the doctor about, I’d just recommend doing what they suggest.

Actually I’d recommend continuing to nurse him direct from the breast. It will offer him some antibodies/protection from the flu. 
But you can always ask your doc

Just keep nursing! Wash your hands a lot, & if you're really worried you can wear one of those medical masks while he's feeding. Like the other commenter said, your milk will give your baby antibodies against catching it from you.

Like everyone else said. Keep nursing him. My 2 yo had the flu a week after  we brought the baby home and I was breastfeeding her and she didn’t even catch it
