Thinking of psychology major?

I started out in school for cosmetology, but got into a super bad car wreck a month before graduation, and it ended up being my sign that that wasn't the path for me.

I've been thinking more and more about the possibility of working with troubled kids or being a clinical psychologist. Before I really commit, I was curious if there's some books that might be good to read first. I'm very impulsive and want to make sure I'm dedicated to this before just signing up for courses.

Also, what can be expected? (if it makes a difference, located in Wisconsin)

Thanks for any suggestions/advice!
