Do you prefer male or female doctors?

I’ve always preferred women doctors just because I felt more comfortable, but since moving I didn’t really have a choice. I have to see every doctor in the practice. Well, I had my first cervical check by a man doctor today, and it hurt so much LESS than the others I have had by women. Anyone else feel the same way? I think I now prefer the male in the practice, I usually leave in tears after the checks 😅

Yes!! I don’t know why but my male doctor checking my cervix was WAY LESS painful than his female nurse practitioner checking.

Personally, I’ve always preferred a man doctor, not sure why - the only time I feel weird is when it’s quite an older man (70+). I had to see a doctor once for a breast exam who was in that category and that made me feel uncomfortable- but perhaps it was just the doctor himself.

The only experience I have with a male doctor is the birth of my first daughter and it was horrible, but I just think he was a bad doctor. 🤷🏼‍♀️
I ultimately don’t care who delivers my baby so long as they listen to my wants and needs, but for my routine checks I prefer women. But again, would probably be okay if they scheduled me with a male doctor when my doctor is out.

I would only allow women doctors until I got pregnant, now if they know what they are doing and are certified to be doing so then do your job regardless of your gender and get my baby out healthy (:❤️

After 2 cycles of IVF, I stopped caring as long as I liked the doctor.

Aslong as myself and baby are safe... Doesn't matter!
I had my cervix checked by the same male doctor and didn't feel a thing....
Had my contraception done by a male doctor.... Two midwifes delieved my son and were great... 
I feel sorry for male or female pros that have to be in contact with my vagina so 😅😬

I prefer women for everything. I actively seek out woman-identifying practitioners for everything, primary care, midwifery, chiropractic, endocrinology, mental health, etc. We even find it preferable to deal with women salespeople! I don't trust men in general though so that's possibly more of a me-issue. My midwife is actually non-binary so I suppose I kind of broke my own "rule" lol

That’s how it was for me when my practice had two male drs for when I was pregnant with my first! They were so much softer! Now it’s all woman!

This is my first baby and I’ve got a female obstetrician. Not that I’ve ever tried a male ob/gyn but I love that my dr has had 4 kids of her own and knows exactly what I’m talking about straight away and knows what it feels like when I go in there and try to explain what I’m feeling or experiencing. I just feel that a female dr who’s had her own kids is gonna understand my experience so much better and on a level that someone else wouldn’t no matter how much study or experience they’ve had.
