Cat scratch?!

Question

Anyone familiar with babies and cats? While playing my cat gave a scratch to my LO on her hand. I immediately cleaned it and disinfected the area. Should I be worried about infections?

We have 2 cats, a 2 yr old, and a 4 month old. It should be fine, just keep on eye on it. Also we trim our cats nails because that happened when our first was only 3 months and we panicked. Maybe it'll be something to look into. Other than that, our kids and cats go great together.

Cat scratches can easily become infected. If it starts looking red at all I would bring LO in to his pediatrician. I'm a Med-Surg RN and have cared for many adult cat scratch patients whose wounds got infected.
