Yes. When you have a period, you can sometimes cramp when the uterus contracts to shed its lining. When pregnant, you can cramp because the uterus is stretching. The cramping has different causes, but tends to feel the same. I have cramped with all my pregnancies.

With this pregnancy I have noticed I get really bad cramps when I'm bloated. So now that I've figured that out, I eat slower and take smaller bites. The cramps were intense like menstrual cramps.

I’ve heard this is when your uterus is stretching so some cramps are normal. I think it if it becomes super painful consistently, that may not be a good sign.
