I got checked at 38 weeks and it felt uncomfortable, but okay. Then when I was admitted to get induced the next day, another nurse checked me and it was the worst pain ever. Made my eyes water. I got checked two other times during my labor and neither was as bad. Could depend on the person checking you, also hurts less if you’re actually decently dilated.

Depends on the person for some it hurts others it doesn’t. I myself don’t think it hurts it’s uncomfortable yea but not painful, when they start to check if they do it they will do a vaginal exam and use their fingers to determine dilation.

They stick their gloved and lubricated fingers up inside of you and feel. For me it hurt pretty badly, some women feel no pain

I did not get checked until I was in labor and let me tell you, it hurt sooooooo bad! I accidentally kicked the nurse due to the pain. It hurt so much for me because my little man was so low and she had to go around his head.... worst feeling ever.,. She did not check me again till I had the epidural

It doesn’t hurt but it is a little uncomfortable. They will check doing a vaginal exam and try and gauge how much your dilated using their fingers.
