Do I have to make the appointment or does my doctor ? Do I have to ask my doctor when?

My midwife doesn't do ultrasounds, she writes me orders and I have to call and set up the appointment. This is the same as when I've needed ultrasounds for other things (thyroid problems). I guess if you go to an ob with ultrasound on site they might just do it as part of your appointment.

On your last appt did they set up future dates for you to come back in?

Your doctor usually orders your anatomy scan, in office or somewhere else. 
With my last & current pregnancy, I wait for a phone call for my doctors office to let me know my insurance approved it & then they tell me the company that’s going to do it & to expect a call from them.
