Pumping teachers?

I will be going back to work in January and plan to pump at work. I’m an elementary teacher and I have heard that it’s super difficult to find time to pump. No prep periods or anything. Just a 15 minute recess where I have duty once a week and lunch. 
I’m just curious if there are any other mamas who have dealt with this and if they were able to successfully pump.

Teacher here. I pumped exclusively for my first. I usually pumped 4-5 times a day I think. Our school started really early, so I pumped at 6, then at lunch around 11:20, then right after school at 2:30, then again around 6 and then before I went to bed. It was hard, but doable! Your body adjusts somehow. This time around, I didn’t want to pump at work so I’m trying to wean. I go back Monday and I’m down to 2 pumps per day, but the sessions are super short. I am a first grade teacher and I went back in the middle of October. I will be honest...pumping at work has gotten old really fast...but I’m still doing it! I nurse my boy when he wakes up and then get everything ready and drop him off at daycare. I get to work around 7 and I go ahead and pump to make sure I’m empty. My plan time is at 10:30 so I pump at that time and then again during recess at 1:00. The hardest days are Wednesday because we have PLC. I pump during the meeting because we are all women 🤷‍♀️ kind of weird and unprofessional but I told them I can either do it in there or miss the meetings. I’m going to try to keep doing it for a few more months but it is hard because you get nothing done. I can’t move around the room...I have to do things that are at my desk. It is possible but not fun. I hope going back is a smooth transition for you!

With my first babe, I went back to work in January too. I was an elementary special ed teacher. Finding time to pump was tough, but possible. I would pump once I got to work, if I could squeeze in a session at recess I would try (usually not though), lunch time, and when school got out. I also had two prep times during the week which I would pump during as well.

I'm a teacher too. Speak with your principal. They are required to give you a time and place to pump. I would pump when I got to work before kids arrived at 830 then at 1200 then at 315 before I left. Then nursed when I picked up the baby from my in laws

If ur pumping to build a supply at home, I’d highly recommend starting as soon as possible at home and as much as u can. Only bec I pumped on my maternity leave once a day to build supply for 4 months. I thought I had a lot and she went through it all in less than a month. I wish I had pumped wayyy more bc now I’m pumping at work what I need basically the following day with only 10 bags in my freezer supply. Good luck!
