If you sleep with a guy on the first date do you have a chance at a relationship with him?

My friend’s guy said didn’t want relationship and invited her over for sex only. She accepted and now fell for him but is wondering why she is only a hookup cuz she thought he’d fall for her. I told her no way, you slept with him he won’t want more. Would she have had a chance at relationship if she’d held out and he wanted her bad enough?
