Nickname for Alden?

My husband and I really love the name Alden for a boy and it’s a family name. But I HATE the nickname Al... when he’s an adult he can choose whatever but I don’t want to have to call him that. I know people say it doesn’t matter that his nickname is but if we start with one young I’m hoping we can avoid Al at least a little...Which nickname do you think is better or what are others you can think of?

Aldi is what I would probably end up calling him

You could also not have a nickname or have one unrelated to his name. My son is Avery, and there's not really a nickname for that. We've been calling him Nuggie (short for nugget, which is what my husband called him when he was born) since he was like 2 weeks old.

I'm a huge fan of using the names I choose, so I would call him Alden. Often the names ppl give their children are so much prettier than the names they end up calling their children, in my opinion. Also, I pronounce that as ALL den, so Al as a nickname doesn't seem right. The vowel sound is all wrong.
