I can’t feel IUD...should I be concerned?

I’m getting worried because I can’t feel my IUD. Is there a certain way of checking for it? I’m wondering if maybe I did it wrong? How far should my fingers go up to feel?

If you're concerned call your doctor. Working at an OBGYN office we don't typically encourage patients to check as they may accidentally pull the strings or worse give themselves an infection. Some women have there cervix up higher and can be impossible to feel the strings.

When I had my IUD my string was cut way too short. My GYN checked it at every annual exam. If you start to feel strange cramping you should call to have it checked.

How long have you had it? After a while the strings were coated in whatever lines the inside of the vagina so they were harder to feel. Some doctors also stupidly cut the strings too short...
Were you able to feel them before and not anymore? Then I'd contact your doctor.

You should be able to feel the strings...they may have just clipped them too short.
