Do you use blue or purple shampoo to turn your hair more of a silver white blonde??

I’m a hairdresser. If you look at a color wheel, the colors directly across from each other cancel eachother. So, violet (purple) cancels yellow, and blue cancels orange.

Just from my experience: I have brown hair that I had bleached super light then dyed red, faded, so it was an orange. Toned that down to a dark grey. Used purple shampoo and it lightened up to silver as the grey lifted.

Blue will cancel out more orange tones and purple will cancel out more yellow tones. So it depends on what you are. And I wouldn’t necessarily say it will turn your hair more silver, but it will neutralize the color from being warm. If you have to use blue to cancel out the more orange tone then you are probably still too dark to achieve a “silver” tone. You would be about a level 6-8 which is anywhere from a light brown to medium blonde. But if you want silver you need to be a level 9-10 which is a light blonde to platinum blonde.
