Childcare

So I love my job and wanted to go back to work. And although I wouldn’t have minded extra time at home and I could have taken unpaid time with job security we couldn’t afford to lose my insurance and income.

So then there’s the issue of childcare.

Bear with me through this story. 🤦🏼‍♀️

My mom was kind enough to watch our LO May and June. Then I have the summer off (I’m a teacher). I expressed gratitude and made sure she knew how much LO loved spending time with her but she said babysitting ‘full time was a bit much’.

So we got a nanny. I vetted tons of people on care.com and we interviewed a half dozen people before settling on a very professional (we thought), experienced nanny with references. I thought things were going really well and then this afternoon I get this text :

Like wtf am I even supposed to say to that? We have to work tomorrow. Wtf?
