People keep asking me what to get my 5 month old for Christmas... I keep just saying diapers and wipes lol but some wanna give more.. it’s so hard to buy for that age.. what are some things they can get that she could maybe start using soon?

Experiences, less stuff! Things that will grow with your child. Swim lessons, baby yoga classes, paints, blocks, etc. A woman named Susie on Instagram has a LOT of great information and even christmas/gift lists by age! Her handle is @busytoddler Definitely check her out. I don’t even have kids yet and I’m learning so much from her (plus I think she’s funny!)

My son 5 months is getting 6-9 & 9-12 month clothes, a jumperoo, a train which has colourful lights & sounds, a plate (coz we are weanning). Ive asked for vouchers to by his first pair of shoes with. No idea what family have got him or his brother tbh as no1 has asked us what to get.

People love giving kids toys but I agree with the savings account. For the first 2 Christmas's and birthdays, i told everyone they were welcome to not gift anything, gift what they would like to OR contribute to my son's future with cash for his college fund which was preferred while he was still young enough to not care about quantity or quality of gifts. Hes 2.5 now and we now tell people what his interests are because who shouldn't get to see the reaction of a child getting a new toy.
