What's a safe stool softener to take while breastfeeding?

Or are all safe to take? I'm scared to poop, baby is 4 days old and I had a tear so im scared to bear down and push :( Thanks in advance!

Prunes/prune juice! I eat one or two per meal and drink a ton of water, didn't have a problem at all :)

I was so scared too. Took colase, not sure if it helped. But then I got prune juice. Probably chugged 3 glasses. Went within 3 hours and it was not bad at all. Good luck!!!

I had to call my dr today and they told me it was okay take miralax. She actually told me to take up to 4 doses today until I go and then probably 1 dose daily until I am regular again. I have been taking colace since I was 12 weeks pregnant and that didn't help after delivery.

I took Colace! I was so scared to... You know, that it took me a WEEK. I promise you that it's not as bad as you're thinking. I had a 3rd degree AND a severe labia tear. It's going to be okay! Just relax! Also, take something that will distract you. This is so weird, but I took a ball and tossed the ball from hand to hand.. Before I knew it, it was over.
