Scented wipes?

I always use unscented wipes but the other day we ran completley out so I sent my bf to the store to get some and he came back with the scented ones. I've been using them but today I noticed my son's penis and the area around it was really red and looked almost swollen. Could it be irritation from the wipes? He can pee just fine and dosent seem to be in any pain.

We always use fragrance free. As soon as we use scented wipes our kids develop a rash.

It could be. We usually* use unscented(what's the point in scented anywY🤷‍♀️) but if our store is out of unscented, we always get the "baby fresh" smell which is lightly scented. There's certain smells that do irritate my son

It could be. I use hypoallergenic wipes. Some are them are scented but I only buy them if they are hypoallergenic. 
I buy different hypoallergenic brands from Amazon, Target, and Walmart

You know those really thin baby wash cloths? Try wetting & using those until y’all can grab some unscented ones, fragrances can irritate some people’s skin!
