Are you getting the Flu shot while pregnant?

Every time I have an appointment, my doctor asks if I had a flu shot yet and stresses the importance of it. I always get sick when I get flu shots. It seems like it could risk my already high risk pregnancy, and I don't think I want to get the shot this year.  Have you guys had three flu shot or did you opt out?

I opted out. My doc asked me once, I said I wasnt getting it, she said ok and never brought it up again.

Please don't. Isnt not even over 10% effective this year, there is more risk in getting it than reward. You dont know if you would even come into contact with the flu, and if you did the vaccine doesn't protect you from getting the flu. It supposedly shortens the duration of symptoms, which I find a silly statement seeing as tho every person who gets a flu shot and gets the flu is absolutely misrible.

Hell no! Says right in the insert no studies have been shown to prove safety of vaccines in pregnant women and its not recommended. Ask your doctor to see it! Its also been shown to cause miscarriage in some women.  Eat right, take vitamins and a vitamin d supplement, stay hydrated and rested thats the best way to avoid it.

Don’t ask on here 😂🥴. Unless it’s a doctor answering please don it listen to anyone. I have lupus and no autoimmune system pretty much. So if I get  the flu and baby gets the flu, we can both be done for it.... so for me, I got it 2 weeks ago!!! My 7month old niece was so sick all last week for thanksgiving and she slept over. I didn’t kiss her, but was with her for 3 days straight. Still nothing! So happy I got it .

I got mine at 8 weeks a little sore spot on my arm and i was and am fine. You have to make this decision on your own but get correct facts on it from medical professionals and go from there. Googling and taking a bunch of other women’s advice won’t help you either way(never google) but I’d make your decision soon as cold season is in full effect.

I got it and had no problems never had issues getting any shots or vaccines before 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ i think it’s personal preference ive never met anyone who has gotten sick from it or after it other than a sore arm everyone is different though some people cant handle vaccines and stuff and some people can just depends

I’ve never had the flu shot before but this is my first pregnancy and my doctor strongly recommend I get it. I did get it and honestly better safe then sorry. You cannot get the flu from the shot it is a dead virus. The shot takes two weeks to actually start working. It does not prevent you from getting the flu but it will make it less sever and not having to worry about risking your baby. When you get sick after the shot it’s normally mild side effects that go away after couple of days. If you do get a cold or flu right after it was because it’s flu season and you most likely were already contaminated by a virus that can take up to three to five days to show symptoms. When I took the shot my head was slightly heavy the next day and some dizziness but it was gone after 24 hours. it was my first time and I’ll do anything that might help protect my baby. What’s worse dealing with a couple of days of side effects or getting a really bad flu that can harm your baby? I’ll take the side effects any day over the flu
