Do you like subtitles?

I literally cannot hear to save myself when watching a movie and need subtitles but my brother absolutely hates them!

I need them. Movies always go from quiet to blowing my ear drums loud so instead of turning it up and down I’d rather just leave it quiet and read if it gets too quiet. 
Not to mention I like my snacks and can’t hear over my fat ass crunching.

Dutch is my native language so watching English shows/movies without subtitles just takes a lot of focus. Subtitles simply makes it easier
