When did your parents meet your partner's parents?

Just curious.. I've been with my boyfriend for about 15 months but our parents haven't met as they live at the other end of the country. I'm wondering if we would have to have a wedding for them to meet in person!

9 months in. I had a birthday dinner and that’s when they met for the first time. We both knew early on we wanted to marry each other so it wasn’t that long.

Other. After we were married. Same situation. Got married but did not have a wedding. They finally met 1.5 years after we were married, when his parents happened to be visiting the area my parents live.

My ex fiancés parents were to meet my parents at my college graduation but that back fired so they would’ve met at our wedding. They also lived four hours apart.
My parents live 24 hours from me and my current partner (together almost a year). They were invited to my partner’s christmas to meet his parents but my parents plane home leaves too early for that. So probably wedding if that happens? To me it’s not important for our parents to meet at all. Like that was never a concern with my ex. They’re not really involved in the other set of parents lives except their kids are dating. We both are adults so I just don’t see it as a big deal. I mean we haven’t even met each other’s parents yet because plans always backfire.
