First appointment with a Midwife

Is it normal to not have your first appointment with a midwife until 11 weeks. I just found out im pregnant with baby number 3 and my other two pregnancies I seen my family doc by 6 weeks pregnant and had ultrasounds before 8 weeks. So having a midwife will be a new experience for me.

I just filled out the midwife form to receive care from them so im still waiting for a call to find out exactly when my first appointment will be. But i read on their website that generally the first appointment isnt until 11 weeks.
