Any 18month olds with horrible appetites?

I started solids for my little one at around 5.5 months when she started showing readiness. She LOVED everything with the exception of sweet potatoes but for about a year she’s been an amazing eater - eating everything with pleasure.
But for the Last few weeks, with the exception of milk, she hardly eats anything. So I have to up her milk intake so that she could at least get some nutrients. She loves Trying to eat on her own and won’t eat anything being fed to her. Problem is most of the food she tries to feed herself, falls straight out of the utensils as she tries to manage bringing them into her mouth without flipping them over. 
Are there any other May babies that have become picky eaters? How did you address it and what helped?

My daughter used to be an amazing eater. We started having her feed herself real food at 6 months, she mastered the fork by 10 months and still struggles with the spoon sometimes but does well. She would eat so many different foods, and even if she thought she didn't like something she would st least try anything once or twice. As of a couple months ago she eats maybe 5 things consistently. PB&J, bananas, yogurt, fruit bars (like nutrigrain), and breakfast muffins. She's also recently entered the "no" phase. Her pediatrician says both thing are common, very normal, and often happen at the same time because the child is learning that they are their own person and they're testing boundaries. Her ped said most kids grow out of the picky eating by 2-3 years old, which sounds like an eternity to me. It just makes me feel like I'm failing her, but her ped says one of the worst things I could do is force her to eat other foods. It can cause a lifelong unhealthy relationship with food and actually encourage picky eating in the long run. I hope she's right about that.

Our 18 month old is semi picky. 
It has been our experience that something happens around 18 months where kids just get pickier.  Our pickiness came in the form of the kid will eat one meal well, then graze for the next six meals before eating another meal well.  This behavior lasts several years.
Normally during this stage, we offer the kid a fruit, veggie and cheese at meals along with the main meal.  Usually they eat the fruit, veggie and cheese.  We offer what we eat, but it is fine if they only eat the veggie, fruit and cheese.

My son has become a little picky in that he will try everything but only eat a few bites.  Our rule is that breakfast and lunch aren’t negotiable (because a sure winner power snack can fill in gaps later), but he is allowed to eat a peanut butter sandwich and banana for dinner if he doesn’t like the dinner on the table.  We plan on keeping this rule forever (except that he’ll have to make his own sandwich after he learns how). This way he never goes to bed hungry, is getting some decent nutrition and food doesn’t become stressful or a power struggle.  
Also, we lean heavily on green smoothies for extra nutrition.  When he wakes up from his nap, he pounds a spinach smoothie like it was candy lol.  We just call it green water and he thinks it’s SO funny lol.

Today my son wanted cake. Thats it. He eventually ate some grapes and I managed to get some savoury into him at lunch time but all he would willingly eat was a lemon madeira cake. Yesterday he was with my parents and apparently ate okay (mostly sweetcorn at lunch though). Day before he ate really well, literally everything he could get his hands on. His diet is so random and he's so stubborn. If he doesn't want something he just won't eat it no matter what I do. He still breastfeeds a bit so I'm hoping that's helping his pretty awful diet. Going to take him to a doctor after Christmas if he doesn't improve this month because I'm worried about deficiencies etc due to how fussy he is sometimes.

This sounds exactly like my daughter. She is so picky and her weight gain has slowed significantly. I make her “protein shakes” with whole milk, banana, wow butter (she’s allergic to peanuts, and instant breakfast. She won’t drink regular milk, she won’t eat meat, the only veggies she’ll eat are peas and carrots. She’ll eat fruit all day long. I give her the fruit/veggie pouches now so she can get iron and other nutrients. I find myself making her multiple things in hopes she’ll consume a few bites. I also give her multivitamin drops. It’s super frustrating. She went from being in the 80th percentile and very chunky to the 50th percentile. Her pediatrician was worried for a little while but she did gain a pound in the past three months so it’s looking better than it was.
