Deli Meat while Pregnant?

Hey all, ftm just wondering about this deli meat while pregnant thing. I am and always have been a sandwich lover. I havent had any deli meats since being pregnant i am now 17+3. What is you opinion on deli meat while pregnant? I have never been sick off of it and i understand if it may be sour to just toss it. I have had some people say hard no and some say its fine. I dont know what to think!

I ate it my entire pregnancy. You’re more likely to get listeria from fruits or vegetables than lunch meat

My doctor recommended that if I want to eat deli meat, to heat it up for about 30 seconds in the microwave, and then repackage it into a different container than what you bought it in before putting it back into the fridge. I personally just haven't had deli meat during this pregnancy so I don't know I how much that changes the deli meat's flavor

I still ate it. I didn’t get listeria. My son is also fine.

I’m scheduled to be induced in 5 days at 39w. I ate deli meat regularly for my entire pregnancy because I don’t view it as a real concern, nor did my doctors tbh. I did not, however, eat raw sushi or romaine lettuce or anything else that had recent recalls. It’s up to you/your judgment and level of comfort.

I avoid it, just to be sure (I may be overly cautious, I think maybe also because I had a miscarriage in April (very unlikely that that had anything to do with listeria btw, I didnt eat any risky food then either).
I eat sandwiches every day though, with (cottage) cheese, humus, chicken filets and/or mushrooms both of which I grill, and some vegetables on top like rocket salad, avocado, tomato. Ooh or peanut butter! And so on..
This made me hungry, I’m going to make myself a sandwich now 😅

i dont eat it daily but i def eat it and im 21+4 lol, you should be fine.
