I was born 6 weeks early, and I had some pretty painful contractions last night at 29 weeks (they stopped, I called the Dr and she said not to worry unless it happens again)

What I have heard is if your mother had preeclampsia , causing preterm, there’s a chance you will? But if you don’t know the reason you were born early, that may not help you!

My mom almost had me at 34 weeks but she was able to hold off until 37 weeks with bed rest. My son was 41 weeks when he was born so in my experience it did not have any impact.
