Washing baby’s head every night?

My little one is starting to get cradle cap. I think. Everything that I read says wash head every night but everyone that I talk to says don’t wash all the time. Suggestions on how often to wash?

I just washed every other night, did a coconut oil rub/would use a soft brush to catch all the loose dead skin and then a fine tooth comb after to get anything else I didn’t get. It cleared up fairly quickly

Our pediatric dermatologist said that there is some research to suggest that overwashing can cause cradle cap. So I definitely wouldn’t wash every day. Especially with soap. 
Get a $5 cradle cap brush from amazon and use with some coconut oil.

Our son's cradle cap started to go away when we stopped messing with it. We wash his hair 2x a week.

I just passed this stage with my four month old. I did not wash all the time but used a dry baby hair brush and brushed her scalp to keep the build up of skin away and used coconut oil on her scalp at night to keep scalp moist and flakes away. I never had her get cradle cap so I feel it worked:)

My skin gets really dried out when I wash my hair and face every day, so I was worried my girl would inherit the same trait. She just turned 13 months and I've only ever washed her hair twice a week and never had any dryness or build up.

Definitely do not wash every day. I washed my daughters hair 2/3 times a week as a nb esp because it was around winter time and I switch to aquafor shampoo and body wash and it completely disappeared within 2 weeks I got it from cvs.

You should also order some scalp scrubbies off Amazon. It really does help with cradle cap.
