Placenta in front of uterus?

Question

At my last appointment at 19 weeks my doc told me my placenta is in front of my uterus....what does that mean? It didn’t hit me to ask him at the time cause I was focused on seeing my little peanut but plan on doing so at my next app.

Placentas will attach to the front (anterior) or back (posterior). Nothing wrong with either. If your placenta is in the front, it’ll take longer for you to feel movement and such. VS if it’s in the back, you feel it pretty early. With my first, it was in the front, with this one now, it’s in the back. There’s nothing wrong & nothing to worry about.

It’s just the way/place the egg latched and developed. Most times the placenta is toward the back and baby in front. Anterior placenta means it’s just in the front. Mine is like this too with this pregnancy. Doesn’t hurt you or the baby. Just the way it developed. Tech told me I’ll feel my baby really low or on my sides before on the center of my belly. The placenta is like a pillow and baby has the kick through that. No biggie

It means just that. Your placenta is at the front and not the back. I had one with my first and felt movement at 14 weeks. My husband felt it on the outside at 19 weeks. You can search on here for anterior placenta. There are tons of threads on it.

Basically it could be a little longer and harder before you are able to feel your baby moving. Your placenta is blocking the baby from your stomach.
