When do you not use condoms?

I’m very curious now about something I was discussing with some friends today because they all said different things
At what point in a relationship is it acceptable to have sex without a condom? Is there a point of general acceptable-ness? What other factors go into it for you?
I’m currently having a strong debate with myself about it. What if you and partner go get tested together? Does it make a difference that we are opposite sex and could supposedly get pregnant? Do you trust the pill enough (I take mine extremely regularly because I have other pills that have to be taken very specifically)? Is there a certain length of time for you? Does it make a difference that I’m polyam? Help me devils advocate this 😅

Go get tested with your LONG TERM partner whoever you’re with.
Then you won’t need to use them
Anything casual or short term, use them!!! 
You don’t know what diseases they might have!

I have an IUD, which is insanely protective against pregnancy. So with most my sexual partners I didn't use condoms, but STDs are on the rise because of people doing the same. Pregnancy shouldn't be your only concern, so I do only recommend this if you are in a serious relationship and have all been tested.

I personally feel that if you aren’t ready for the outcome of having a baby it’s NEVER a good idea to have unprotected sex but if you and your partner have a strong relationship and both are stable enough and are able to handle and be ok with possibly getting pregnant then it’s ok I say this and seem hypocritical as I was in the depo shot all throughout high school and never used a condom 🤷🏼‍♀️

I hate condoms and never used them in relationships. Of course, I used them any time it was a casual thing. I was always on the pill either way.

I have only been with my husband but we always used one tell we started trying for a baby.  We are trying for baby two now so don’t use one.  If we didn’t want a kid than we use one.

I cannot take hormonal birth control for medical reasons, so we’re using condoms until we plan on trying for a baby.

It depends on what level of risk you're willing to accept and how you would react to an adverse outcome. If you and your partner have been tested *and both get regularly tested as well*, then you might worry less about STDs. Theres always a risk of dormant sti's or cheating, but trusting your partner helps alleviate the fear of risks. If you're on birth control, that will alleviate a great deal of risk of pregnancy. However you can still get pregnant while on birth control, so some people just feel more protected using condoms. They're risk assessment is telling them that they really really do not want to get pregnant. Some people forgo any contraception tools and rely on things like FAM and/or pullout. For some people, they choose less protection because they throw caution to the wind and dont want to face the reality that its risky to do that. For others, they might not be actively be trying but would welcome a child. Everyone has different levels of risk that they can or can not accept and act according to what they choose to accept. For me, I'm in a stable relationship with a partner who is on the same page as I am and is willing to accept any outcome that I choose, whether or not it's even the choice that we last discussed, so feel very comfortable with him as my sexual partner. I have had a blood clot in the past so I cannot be on a lot of types of birth control and my boyfriend has had a friend who had a stroke from birth control so health risks are a huge concern for him as well. We only use condoms right now because we have that trust with each other and know what we want and accept that I am at higher risk of pregnancy. We understand that it's a possibility.

Casual or short term, of course get tested regularly between partners and also use condoms.
Long term...that's really up to you and whether or not your ok with a oopsie possibly happening.
My SO and I have been together for 6 years now. About....4 months of dating I got on birth control, we kept using condoms for a few months after that. We moved in together about...10 months into the relationship, around that time we stopped using condoms and no pullout, I was still on birth control, no "accidents" happened.
About 2 years later. I got off birth control and now we exclusively use the pull out method. Been safe for the last 3 or so years and no oopsies lol but if a baby would've happened then we were at the point where we were ok with that even if we weren't actively trying.
We plan on actively TTC starting Janurary🥰

I wouldn't stop using contraceptive with anyone until I felt we were ready for a baby. (also knowing they don't have any stds)
With my husband it was when we decided to start trying. Then after she was born it was after we knew statistically we were safe from miscarriage again and decided to start trying for a second.

Thankfully, my husband and I lost our virginity to one another. So we didnt have too much concern to get tested. We did, however, have sex at a younger age. Because we weren't very educated on safe sex practices, we didnt use condoms. I did, however, get on birth control when I was around 17 or 18. Even with religiously taking it (after being at the Obgyn for the first few times), I still ended up pregnant around 2 years after I started. It wasnt until after we had our first child, that we started using condoms. Weve now been together for 15 years and unless we are TTC, condoms are a must because I have a hard time with birth control.
