How many ounces do you pump?

I just started pumping once a day after my first feeding of the day at 2.5 weeks pp.  So far I'm getting about 3 oz. between both breasts after 15 minutes.  Is this normal? Will I eventually produce more per pumping session?  Thx!

That's actually a lot of milk, women have pretty unreasonable expectations of how much you should be producing. Go to kellymom.com it's very informative. I was convinced I wasn't making enough because some people pump 8oz at a time. It's better to be a just enougher than to have too much, you may not get a huge stock pile but you'll have what baby needs. If your pumping right after a nursing session you're not going to get as much, need to wait at least an hour. Pumping right after is good to stimulate increase on production.

If you want to increase you can pump between 2-5am - do a power pump at this time 10 min pump 10 min break for an hour, try ovaltine malt mix, lactation cookies, oatmeal, mothers milk tea, etc.

As someone who had an oversupply to begin with, settling into just enough was kind of troubling for me, but in the long run I feel better and my baby is way less colicky.

Ugh I'd like to know too! This morning I only pumped 1oz combined:/. My daughter's 2 wks old tomorrow. I'd like to have enough for one bottle feed a day If I head to the store etc.

I used to be able to get 3-4 oz easy from one breast in the beginning. Now that my LO is 4 months I'm lucky to get 1! I rarely pump at all these days, which is actually a huge relief!

That's a good start!! You will eventually get more than that but at 2\3 week pp that's great!
