Do y’all think mother in laws be jealous of their sons girlfriends /wives ?

Every time my boyfriend and I see my mother in law she just make it her business to state how much her son is a mommas boy , brags about their relationship.. like EVERY TIME WE SEE HER! Why? It’s getting annoying because I don’t care. Its like she’s jealous and have to remind me of their relationship every chance she gets , I mean I’m happy he has a relationship with his mother because some people dont but gahhh lee! Then if he ask her a question that I don’t know , she be like “you have a girlfriend but you still WANT to call your momma huh” like umm tf I have to do with the question? She pops up at random times WITHOUT ASKING! Like umm your son has a family now , it’s just a respect thing ya know!
