I posted last week about this. For the last few weeks my SO's skin has been irritated.

At first he thought he had got into chiggers and was constantly itching. It got to the point where he started digging and picking at his skin. And now he's been using tweezers to pluck "them" out where its itching. He has left sores all over his body from doing this. Its been going on for almost 3 weeks now.

After researching we didnt think it was chiggers anymore because its been continuous for weeks. But now he's convinced its fiberglass stuck in his skin. (He works construction) So he will sit for hours plucking his skin to remove it. I'm not sure how long fiberglass can stay embedded in your skin?

Its becoming very worrisome because of the marks he is leaving on his body and how obsessive he has become with picking and plucking. I googled his symptoms and found Morgellons disease, which most professionals think is a type of psychosis. I am so so scared of this because the symptoms fit so well.

He says he can feel something like a splinter sticking out and then he will start plucking it out. He describes its as being very very tiny red or black specs that he removes. And he says once he plucks it out the relief of the itching is instant. But then a new spot becomes itchy and it just all starts over again with the plucking. No he is not a drug user and has never had a skin problem before this.

Please anyone out there... could this just be fiberglass embedded in his skin? Would it not necessarily come off after showering? I am at a loss at what to do at this point and I'm trying to convince him to see a doctor. What else could it be? Here are some pics of the sores he has caused. Sorry TMI
