So my doctor told me that my placenta is in front instead of the baby.  Wha exactly does that mean?  Is it a bad thing?

That’s called an anterior placenta. It’s not as common as a posterior placenta, where your baby is against your belly and your placenta is behind them. But it’s not necessarily dangerous (someone correct me if I’m wrong there). You will probably just feel movement and kicks later than others because baby will be kicking your placenta, not your abdomen.

I have an anterior placenta too. As the other commenter said, it just means you may not feel movement until later. 
I haven’t had any trouble so far.

Mine too!. Just adds some cushion between baby and outside world lol. Means you will feel the kicks internally but likely won't feel much from the outside until way later. Downside to it..baby has a great shot at my intestines this time and the kicks are causing some gastric responses lol. The upside it's not kicking my bladder so I'm not rushing to pee every 20 minutes. Silver lining lol

Am glad you raised the placenta, mine also and the doctor told us me and my unborn child we are in danger, and she send us to the specialist. We just find a private specialist and he check everything and am fine no danger my baby is big and my due date it's not June anymore
