Mothers with older kids do you wake them up in the morning or do they get ready on there own?

I have an 8 yr old who has always get up with her own alarm and gets ready for school by herself. My mother thinks this is outrageous. She’s been doing this since 1st grade she’s now in 3rd.

My older 2 have an alarm clock, but mainly bc I have them get up earlier than me bc they couldn’t handle getting ready in the allotted amount of time, so I had them get up about 10-15 minutes before I come down. They are 10 and 8. They are supposed to get up, get dressed, and start eating. Then I come down and make lunches and help them with their hair, things like that. I wake my 6 year old up, though.

I wake up my son (10) unless he wakes up on his own and he gets breakfast and gets ready all on his own. Has been doing this since 1st grade.

My so is 7 and he gets up to his own alarm, he gets dressed all by himself and he even fixes his own breakfast ( microwave foods, cereal, and pop tarts.) Stuff like that. He does not operate the stove alone. My daughter is 3 and she is not that independent yet but I do encourage her to make choice such as what she wants to eat and wear.

My 6 year old gets ready on his own. But I have the alarm in my room on my phone I wake him I call his name (rooms are across from each other) he sometimes already be up and just laying there. On days where he doesn’t answer I have to get up go in his room and get him up but he still gets ready on his own.

I wake my 12 and 9 year old up in the morning. Only because they will ignore the alarm.

So I wake them up at 6 but they get ready for the most part on their own. I get up at around 6:45 to make sure they’ve gotten all their crap together and not forgotten anything then we’ll leave for school around 7:00. If we’re running late tho I’ll help pack lunches and backpacks to make things go faster lol but thank goodness we’re usually not late often.
