3 month old with a cold

Has anyone made homemade saline solution? I live too far from a store to buy drops and I don’t want to take him out of the house. I have sat him in the bathroom with the shower running, he hasn’t had a fever, and I have been cleaning out his nose. I wonder if it could also just be him teething since he hasn’t had a fever yet. Any other recommendations?
