Hi so I just need some help from someone who might know what to do or what’s going to happen.

So we booked our wedding venue in March 2019 for our wedding which is August 2020 we’ve paid the deposit of £500 on a debit card and have signed a contract. We then booked the accommodation which is separate to the wedding contract it’s been booked as a holiday through them they do holidays there with lodges and things we paid a £375 deposit in March 2019 the same time as we paid the deposit for the venue hire, we then paid the remaining balance on the house which was £1125 in August this was all paid on a debit card.

I’ve heard that the venue and business is having money trouble they haven’t paid the staff this month there wages and apparently if they can’t get a bridging loan by Tuesday they will be closing the doors!!! When we booked the wedding they were saying how they were going to be spending so much money on developing land and building new lodges and a swimming pool although this hasn’t happened yet, they also said how they were booked up till 2022 with weddings I can’t believe this is happening and don’t know what to do?!!

So my question is will I get my money back?!

I don’t have wedding insurance would you recommend getting this? I don’t know if I get it now will the company I get it with think it looks suspicious??

I’m in the UK if that makes any difference.
