If planning to breastfeed, are you still getting bottles & pump?

I am planning on breastfeeding but I'm unsure if I should buy bottles and a pump just in case... I will be home and not going back to work for at least a year after baby is born. Not sure if it is worth investing in now or just seeing what happens?

I am. My first spit up a little blood after nursing for about a week. It was because my nipples were cracking but it freaked me out so much that I wound up pumping for 8 months! Also, bottles allow someone else to feed baby too so you can rest.

I'm planning on breastfeeding, but I will occasionally be offering a bottle (of breast milk, not planning on formula). I want my husband to be able to feed the baby when I'm not around (or if I decide I want to sleep!) and I don't want the baby to only associate the bottle with my husband. He's already going to associate me with the boob anyway. Lol.

Yes I have a pump and few bottles to try out but if breastfeeding doesn't work I know I will have my bottles just incase.

Yes! The hand pump was a life saver when my milk came in (ouch!!). It's nice to have the option to let someone else feed too so you can rest or run an errand etc.

Yes and yes! I think it's important to be prepared. We all dream of having that beautiful breastfeeding experience, but the truth is you might need some help by way of pumping. Never hurts to have everything you need just in case! Plus, if you're in the US and have health insurance you should be able to get a breast pump for free through your insurance provider! I just ordered my Medela Pump In Style yesterday for free.99! ☺️

I would get a pump. Your insurance or Medicaid should cover the cost. Get a pump and a few bottles. You never know if something happens when you can't feed the baby its good to have milk stored for emergencies. I stayed home with my son for 11 months and mostly nurses him but always had a stash in the freezer in case I ran an errand baby stayed home with dad and he got hungry before I returned. Also good to have a stash in the freezer if you get sick and your supply dips or something like that.

Yes, I plan to breastfeed but also plan to pump some, so hubby can help feed and so I can *maybe* not have to feed in public...just not my cup of tea but each their own.
