Rsv in 6month old

Jillian

Alright mommas I need some help. When do you draw the line of bringing your little one in? Easton is 6 months, and had “RSV” the beginning of November. He is a very happy baby, rarely cries unless it involves food. Has slept in his crib his whole life with no issue all the way through the night. Saturday night/Sunday morning at 2am he woke up screaming, coughing, couldn’t catch his breath from all the mucous in him. This lasted all night into the morning. He had been super fussy, cranky and crying all day. I gave him Tylenol after 3, so a little over 2 hours later and he was at 99.5. He has diarrhea and is flaring his nose when he breaths, especially with his nook in. the mucous in him is just insane and you can hear it in the other room, he’s constantly choking on it. Nothing is satisfying him and I don’t know what else to do. I don’t want to go in and have them blow it off and send us home as we all know how expensive a hospital visit is. What would you do? We called the triage nurse line Sunday night and they told us to take him to the closest ER but it was a 3 hour wait so we stuck it out at home. Brought him to his pediatrician in the morning and they told us his is an optical illusion case because his face looks happy but he is labored breathing. They gave us a neb and told us to try it at home and if he gets worse to bring him to the ER. When would you decide to bring him in or not?
