I haven't had any contact with my dad in over 6 years

He was a terrible dad and he made contact a couple of weeks ago. He wants to build a relationship with me, my brother and my daughter. We've spoken briefly, however it was cut short and I was meant to call him back. This morning he randomly texted me asking if I needed help financially as it's Christmas and I don't know how to respond. There was a time my dad thought we only contacted him for money (although he stopped giving our mum any money for us years ago). Now he realises that this isn't the case and I guess he feels bad plus guilty.

I don't mind staying in touch with him, I doubt we'll ever rebuild anything to be honest. Alot happened in the past, I've forgiven him so I can move on with my life.

I am also struggling with my finances at the moment and just found out I'm expecting, aso I don't know if it's a good idea to accept his help. It is my dad after all, if it was anyone else I'd think twice incase they wanted something in return.

What would you do in this situation?
