I had to have one at 24 weeks because they couldn’t get all of the images they needed at the 20 week scan. I’ve been told I will need to have at least one more around 34-36 weeks to check baby’s size and position. Baby is growing about 10 days ahead at the moment so they need to check whether or not I’ll need to be induced to prevent him/her from getting too big. But most of the mums in my life didn’t have a scan after 20 weeks.

In my first pregnancy, no. I’m my second I had one at 32 weeks because I’m high risk. If there’s no need for it, they won’t do it. It’s common for most women only to get 2 ultrasound

I've had 4? scans since my anatomy scan and will now be having a scan once a week until I deliver. The first was because they didn't get enough photos at my original scan. The second was when they discovered his small stomach. They've been monitoring him ever since. I haven't been technically told that I'm "high risk" but my baby is falling behind growth wise and has a very small stomach so they're having me come in weekly now.

As the other ladies have said, if your pregnancy is low risk, there most likely won't be another ultrasound. If your OB wants you to have one after 20 weeks, it is because there is some sort of concern. Examples include: an incomplete anatomy scan, baby's growth, placenta function, amniotic fluid assessment, etc. Most people who have ultrasounds beyond their 20 week one are paying for a private scan.
