How much are your 2yr olds talking?

My daughter is in speech therapy and they tell me that I shouldnt worry and lots of kids struggle with words. But I cant help myself. All of my friends and family with kids around my daughters age are talking up a storm and my daughter barely has like 15 words. 😢

He has definitely been my slowest in wanting to talk! He has his few select words he says ALL THE TIME but some days he just refuses and has no interest in even trying! He’ll occasionally surprise me by saying something a few times throughout the day then he’ll never say it again. Which is super annoying.

Has your daughter started to speak more? My son turned 2 in late December but still doesn’t speak that well either. Since he was 18 months old he recognized his alphabet, numbers, and colors and now is starting to say those things but he doesn’t really talk talk. He doesn’t even say mommy/mama. He repeats what I say sometimes but not consistently.

Not much.  His 3 year old sister talks non-stop and has been since she was 2, so it’s hard for him to get a turn.  😂
Honestly though, of my 4 kids they’ve all been different. My oldest was a late talker - she had maybe 10 words at two and was just a quiet kid. She barely even babbled. My second was super early and was singing songs like row row your boat and baa baa black sheep before he turned one. My third had a lot of single words and two word phrases she loved repeating but we didn’t get full sentences at 2.  She also had a lot of cute versions of words. My 4th is behind in my opinion and his enunciation is terrible, but I think he is actually saying things. I just can’t understand him. Sometimes if he’s pointing at something and says the same thing over and over I catch on better.

My daughter barely speaks at all! She just doesn't want to because I'll get excited for a word from her and then it's right back to babbling. Her one sibling talks all the time so I get it a little.

Everyone remarks on how smart my LO is and her ped doesn’t seem worried. She has about a dozen consistent words, has a few two-word phrases, and has started to repeat after me when I ask her say words. 
She also gets really shy when we ask her to repeat things, especially in front of others. She also doesn’t speak much in front of people who aren’t me or her dad, but talks up a storm and babbles when it’s just us.

My daughter turned 2 on the 5th.. and she is a talker. she can say sentences, and repeats literally everything you ask her to... She can do the full alphabet, count to 10 forward and backwards, and even sing a few songs .. the ABCS, twinkle twinkle, and you are my sunshine she knows the best. 
But she's way more advance then any of our friends kids that are the same age, every kid is very different. 
And taking them to speech therapy is great, my niece did it and it was amazing for her.

My son talks all the time, uses full sentences, tells us “stories” of what happened, sings songs, uses grammar correctly, and I thought it was normal for a 2-year-old but maybe I am just lucky? I don’t have any friends with kids the same age so I don’t know 🤔
