Are men really that disappointed on the babys gender?

I was watching videos of gender reveals and I noticed some guys expressing the disappointment which is normal, but not normal to me when the guy doesn't even want to hug with the mother to be. It makes me cringe. Is it just me? 
**Again I'm not talking about the ones who are happy & jokingly pout.
I'm talking about the real disappointed fathers to be.

Being disappointed enough to basically punish the mother for it is ridiculous. After all, it is the man’s sperm that determines gender, it’s their fault 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

So over the summer we had my cousin’s baby gender reveal. They did it with fireworks at the end of the night! 
So everyone’s recording and everyone’s so excited (mind you my cousin is banking on a boy lol) the firework finally shoots off and it’s PINK. He literally shows zero reaction and drops to the ground. Walked away and sat by the fire for the rest of the night. Alone. Won’t say a word to anyone. Tbh it kind of embarrassed me and angered me of his reaction because his wife felt guilty for being happy they could even conceive after her miscarriage. 
So they go for follow up appt after gender reveal and he asks them to check again 😂 he said he read there’s a small chance it could still be a boy. Nope. Still a girl. He still was moping. Everyone was starting to get irritated like come on just be happy you even have a healthy baby that’s growing!!!!! 
Fast forward to October and they welcome their babygirl. I went to visit the day they got home and he’s burping her what I consider the “pro” way lol and just talking to her and can’t stop gushing about her. I rested up expecting him to really have no connection due to his actions before she was born. Needless to say HE is wrapped around that little girls finger and beyond in love 💓 he could’ve pumped the brakes on the salty show a long time ago though lol

I’ve seen just as many mothers get pissed off in those videos. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Someone’s sex does not determine a single thing about their personality, nor should it even make a huge difference in how they will be raised.

I think the initial disappointment is quite common - especially when you want/feel it’s another gender. As long as that feeling goes away and you don’t feel any ill-will towards the child, it’s all good. I had guilt after wanting a girl so bad with both pregnancies, but my boys are my babies and I can’t imagine not having either of them!

Gender disappointment is real and it can happen to mother or father. My husband experienced it, especially with our second. I would never ever do a public gender reveal with him knowing how badly he wants to have a baby girl and knowing he could potentially experience that sudden intense disappointment on video.
