Middle children: Does it suck so much you'll avoid having a middle child yourself?

I always see middle children complain about how horrible it is to be the middle child. To always be forgotten etc. I'm an only child so I don't understand sibling dynamics at all. For you who are middle children, was/is it so bad you'll avoid having middle children yourself, or is it not that bad?

I have a large family, so there were two middle kids, me and my brother. We have two older siblings and a younger. Growing up my brother closest to me always picked on me. I didn't want a younger sister, I wanted a brother to pick on, so I always picked on her lol. I think siblings are siblings and you either get along well or you don't, then it changes when you get older. I get along with all now, but I am closest to my younger sister!

I'm the middle child of 5 kids. Honestly I loved it. Never had any problem with it either. My mom calls me the "mediator" of my siblings/her kids bc I have always been the one who calms everyone down and makes everyone get along. We are adults now and even being grown they get into a disagreement and instantly come to me. I hear both sides and then get them to talk it out, they reconcile and all better 😁
I'm the calmest out of my moms children. The most laid back I would say. My grandmother says I have an old soul. I dont mind it one bit and I'm pregnant with baby #2 & if we decided to have 1 more I would be happy to make my daughter a middle child.

I loved being a middle child. I was always and will always be the black sheep of the family. But having siblings helped, because I always had someone even if it wasn't my parents. I always had a friend, always someone to rely on. And even if it wasn't one sibling at the time, then I had another sibling to step in. As an adult, I appreciate it even more.

Curious cuz I’m the youngest of 3. We just had our 3rd and I want to maybe do 1 more kiddo cuz I felt left out as the youngest of an odd number. My brother and sis did everything together and I was always just a little removed from all that and didn’t have someone to be close to as well.

When I was younger I lived with my brother and sister (had other siblings but didnt live with us) and I actually enjoyed my childhood. I was the "middle" child in our household. Yes sometimes we did fight, irratate each other but it was great. Would never change anything about the amount of siblings. 
I would love 3 or 4 children myself (highly doubt I will cant even conceive 1), I like the idea of having children and they are all running around and playing about. Just like when i was young x

I’m the middle of 5 and never feel forgotten and never felt forgotten growing up. I think that it’s stupid to say that just because you’re a middle child you’ll be forgotten. Like shame on parents who are like that. 
We want 4 children but we will be happy with however many we get.

I was the middle of 3 girls and I do feel like I got the short end of the stick many times (i think it’s different when all 3 are the same gender too). I always thought 4 would be good that way there would be 2 in the middle at least. Now that we are having trouble conceiving we’ll hopefully be lucky enough to have 2. I am very much not wanting only 3 though.

I'm a middle child and loved it growing up! I got to do fun stuff with my older brother, like go with him to movies and stuff when he got his license, while my sister was still considered too young to go. I also avoided some of the over-protectiveness from my parents that she got as the youngest. Really it felt like I got the best deal out of the three of us 😁 I may have just been a lucky, special case though.
