Anyone else harvesting / hand expressing colostrum?

I started at 33 weeks and have filled 1 syringe per week - I'm now a little over 36 weeks. Just seeing who else is harvesting?

To the woman who doesnt think its "healthy" or "sanitary": regarding being sanitary; you need to take precautions with sterilization. You use a sterilize syringe and sterile collection container to collect it. Then its frozen immediately after collection. It's perfectly sanitary if you do it right. Regarding healthy, its perfectly healthy to do!

Why do it? I’ve had some leaking but not saving it

I've read that if you harvest it should not be used if frozen for more than 4 weeks. That is why they recommend to start at 36 weeks.

I dont think I’m very good at hand expressing 😞 I only got 2 drops

My doctor doesn’t recommended it until 38 weeks, so I plan to start then. I’m been leaking since 28 weeks so it’s been tempting to try.
