After months of going back and fourth about what we would name our daughter we finally came to agree on a name. A name that has very special meaning to my fiance and i.

With our first child i decided to only post his initials on social media and only close family knew his name until after he was born. We decided to do that again with our daughter.

Yesterday was my grandmas birthday so we all got together at my moms to celebrate. My older sister asked about her name ( she assumed i named her something else bc i asked her opinion) since i posted the initials. When i told her we had settled on Eden she scuffed and said "That's just ugly That's not what we agreed on." Then my grandma chimed in " That's a boys name" i tried to explain to both on them Eden is a girl name and where it came from, but my family being who they are just kept saying "its a boys name."

Finally my moms girlfriend interrupted all the arguing by saying " I like it its not a common name and its very pretty." So everyone just stopped and left me alone.

But, the thing that bothered me was how everyone just joined in the fun of bashing her name. Knowing I've struggled for months with names. I know it shouldn't matter but to me it does so now here i am second guessing her name all over again.
